Bridging the Gap

Experience/Space Design

Project partner: Ann Salman

‘Bridging the Gap’ is about more than just adding a pop of color to a museum, it strives to enrich the experience. When designing for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, there is a variety of users being considered, and all of those users are navigating the same space. Our goal was to make that space as accomodating as possible to whoever the guest may be.

The Process

Before even beginning to design, we started with a simple observation of the space. Our goal was to identify potential problem areas, but also to find points of strength. After making our own observations, we moved onto a more active form of investigating: interviews.

The interview process helped us get insight from two different perspectives: the staff and the visitors.
